The “Between Time” Sessions

We cut three songs that day, “Killers”, “Giants Walk The Land” and “Time To Get On”. I remember telling the band, tomorrow we first see the invaders coming in from the East, then there is the silence of time immemorial and then the otherworldly visitors, coming and leaving. “Time To Get On” is the leaving, extending into the long journey which you hear at the end. Everyone said…cool… and that is what we played, live, back to back that day.

“Time To Get On” was originally 7:28 but was edited down to 5:38 to fit the limitations of the vinyl release. The long guitar solo playout was faded very early. That shorter version was kept for the CD and download / streaming for consistency across formats.
